SpineSource™ Gains Exclusive Rights to A-Spine™ USA Lumbar Fixation Plating System September 12, 2007
ST. LOUIS, MO (HSMN NewsFeed) - Spinal implant stocking Distributor SpineSource™, Inc. has announced its long term agreement as the exclusive U.S. Distributor for spinal implant manufacturer A-Spine, USA's (San Francisco, CA) anterior thoracolumbar fixation Plating System.The Company's agreement includes exclusive U.S. rights to A-Spine's patented USA Plating System for the treatment of spinal disorders requiring the resection of a vertebral body. The USA Plate has been used extensively overseas since the mid-1980s. SpineSource plans to distribute the system through its 200+ independent sales force.
"This provides SpineSource a broader platform to provide its surgeon-customers with more of the necessary implants to treat their patients suffering from spinal trauma and tumors," said President and CEO, Tom Mitchell. "It also provides our sales representatives the ability to streamline the materials management process for the hospital by giving them an independent alternative versus being limited to the bigger companies and competitors."
The USA Plate is made from titanium alloy and provides the surgeon the ability to choose intraoperatively between an ultra low-profile, self-locking system with four points of fixation, or another which allows compression and distraction insitu with up to six points of fixation.
